Information
Rio+20, United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on June 20-22, 2012. The preparations for Rio+20 have highlighted seven areas which need priority attention; these include decent jobs, energy, sustainable cities, food security and sustainable agriculture, water, oceans and disaster readiness. Today, SPREAD is hosting a side event at Rio+20! We will debut a future vision of more sustainable living with the debut of our newly created scenarios to an international audience. The research that under-pins the European scenarios will also be presented, including a review of lifestyle impact hot spots, social innovation, promising practice, and an introduction to the EU Roadmap to Sustainable Lifestyle 2012 - 2050. Check out this nice guide which was presented in Rio "100 sustainable solutions". It contains some great ideas like reusable venues, energy from pulp and paper waste or student driven technology transfer...

The final conference of SPREAD Sustainable Lifestyles 2050 will be held on November 26-27 2012 in Brussels.
The findings of the SPREAD 2050 project will be showcased and discussed during the two day conference. It is a possibility to hear the first hand results of the SPREAD 2050 project. Emphasis is on how the findings can be turned into action.
