Netcycler Germany: http://www.netcycler.de/
Netcycler UK: http://www.netcycler.co.uk/
Also, time banks have gotten really active in Finland. This site is the main driver: http://stadinaikapankki.wordpress.com/ -> it's part of an internationl Community Exchange Network: http://www.community-exchange.org/

Well, not only people. Also SMEs need to save money and as long s it is getting more and more difficult to get a bank loan to make investments, SMEs rediscovered bartering services or products between them.
The initiative is managed by the web site http://acambiode.com/ that allows SMEs to look for products/ services and get them in exchange of their own. More than 330.000 enterprised worldwide (mainly in the Spanish-speaking countries) have joined the platform so far, and the interes seems to be constantly increasing.
Permalink Reply by Albert Canigueral on March 29, 2012 at 3:03am Very interesting example of B2B collaborative consumption. I am sure that raise some interesting issues in the accounting and legal departments of these companies.
I ll add the example to the directory http://www.consumocolaborativo.com/directorio-de-proyectos/

Albert.

Purpose with Profits: Collaborative Consumption Business Models:
Collaborative Consumption businesses are disrupting industries and changing both what and how we consume - but how do these companies make money? This presentation prepared for NESTA's Collaborative Consumption Summit explores the different business models fueling the growth of Collaborative Consumption ventures:

Living in the UK there is not yet a lot available in terms of collaborative consumption, but through a recent Guardian article http://www.guardian.co.uk/sustainable-business/collaborative-consum... I have, at last, found a successful sharing website.
With the categories; garden/land, property, possessions, and skills/services (with a small service fee), the borrowers brings lenders and borrowers all over UK together: http://www.theborrowers.co.uk/.
Further links and tips fr UK initiatives very welcome...
Permalink Reply by Lynn Bunniss on March 31, 2012 at 7:41pm Thank you for your kind comments about my website www.theborrowers.co.uk Sarah. We're doing our best to spread the word about our initiative and our list of borrowers and lenders is growing daily. Feel free to beat the drum. Let's get sharing folks.

Permalink Reply by Lynn Bunniss on March 31, 2012 at 7:53pm Our website www.theborrowers.co.uk, a peer-to-peer sharing site, is growing day-by-day with more borrowers and lenders registering and more adverts being placed. Three categories are free to advertise: Land/Garden, Property (driveway, spare room, garage, workshop etc) and Possessions. The fourth category, Skills and Services, is aimed mainly at the small business and sole traders to try and keep trades local - and that's just £45 for 12 months.
Do feel free to check us out and spread the word.
Permalink Reply by Julia Nussholz on April 16, 2012 at 3:49pm Hello everyone,
this is a further interesting example of collaborative consumption:
A foodsharing platform to share leftover food instead of throwing it away! In Germany each year 82kg of edibles per person are thrown away, equal to an amount of 22bn €. The platform would enable individuals, retailers or producers to offer or pick up leftover groceries in their neighborhood.
It is a great initiative but the founders still need a bit of support to realize the project. To have a closer look at the idea and maybe even to help making it a reality, have a look here http://www.startnext.de/foodsharing (only in German).
Permalink Reply by Sarah Thorne on April 18, 2012 at 11:05am I think this is such an important initiative to spread and to support, thanks Julia!
In Oxford I am volunteering for the Oxford Food Bank http://oxfordfoodbank.co.uk/, in which we are distributing food from supermarkets that is taken off the shelves to local registered charities. It is incredible to see how much food is thrown out every day, just from one supermarket!
Another useful reference is the book by Tristram Stuart called' Waste, uncovering the global food scandal'. He also has a very detailed and helpful page: http://www.tristramstuart.co.uk/

A weekly Idea Card Diary shows flashes from the future when these new services and products will be mainstream all over Europe. Or will they? Read more and comment!
